Scary across the Mersey

So Liverpool begins its year of being 'European City of Culture'. It's an easy target for critics, the endless tyre theft jokes and the 'self-pity city' jibes.

But Liverpool asks for it. Their fantastic sense of humour apparently comes from having it tough in the war. Ask Cilla Black or Stan Boardman. No other city experienced hardship during the war.

The arrogance of the people, believing that coming from Liverpool makes them special, is obvious in every interview. They claim to have a community spirit second to none. The same community spirit that created the wall of silence when the police were trying to catch the killer of 11 year old Ryhs Jones last year.

And it's catching. Soccer manager Sam Allardyce was sacked as Newcastle manager last week. Various people, from ex-pros to the men on the street, have said that his failure was due to not understanding Newcastle culture. So, it was more important for Sam to understand a grown man drinking 10 pints of strong lager, removing his shirt and throwing up over his girlfriend (I've seen it happen), than to be a knowledgeable and experienced football manager?

Two more men were shot last night in Liverpool, but I'm sure that the gunman can't be blamed. He obviously did it as a reaction to his terrible wartime experiences.

The police in Liverpool know who killed Ryhs Jones what they don't have is proof. I would challenge you to live in such an area and talk to the police.

"liverpool asks for it?"

liverpool asks for what? some small minded racist Journalist prick who probably left home at 16 and has more communication with strangers on the internet than his family and friends he was brought up with.

It's self important bloggers like yourself who are just as bad as the media (in fact you are a journo) stands to reason.

What makes you so special that you have the right to stereotype every person who comes from 1 area because of some over inflated news story written by some prick who lives in the south. Is it the fact that you can write your thoughts annonmously to a Global community slagging off communities you probably never ever have visited? Just read about.

There is an issue lately with shootings in Liverpool, but dont be so small minded! It happens all over the Country. Yes shootings happen in London, Wales, Scotland, Newcastle, Essex, and Cambridge all have crime and all have shootings which pricks in the media (like you) decide to blow out of proportion. Drugs, Carcrime and burgulary in Cambridge are above the UK average does that make you a thief smackhead???? does it???

Coming from Liverpool doesn't make you special it makes you belong. And let me tell you the only person hiding the Killers of Rhys Jones are his mates and his associates not the whole of Liverpool. I guarantee 99.99% of Liverpool don't know who killed rhys Jones but if thy did they would shop them or Lynch them so keep your genralised comments to yourself and write about the real facts and not just stereotypical here say read in the media.

Think before you blog and give your old mates a call or maybe your family....If you want to come up to Liverpool and meet some communities I am happy to show even a small minded biggot like yourself around just to show you its not all Cilla Black and Stan Boardman just like Cambridge is not full of boat racing, born with a silver spoon in thier mouth toffs or maybee it is?
